What’s Your Parenting Style?
According to psychologist Diana Baumrind, there are four parenting styles. Parents are authoritative, authoritarian, permissive (indulgent), or uninvolved (neglectful). Identifying where you fall on the spectrum is a great way to determine what you need to work on to become a better parent.
Do remember that few of us fit neatly into one single parenting style. Most of us raise our kids using a combination of styles. Hence, you should think of the four styles as a continuum instead of four distinct ways to parent.
