Ascott Centre for Excellence (ACE) is the global hospitality training centre of The Ascott Limited – the leading international serviced residence owner-operators in cities of the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East. ACE is also appointed by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) to develop and facilitate Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) programmes for the hospitality category within the Hotel & Accommodation Services sector. We have trained and shared hospitality best practices with industry players and interested parties through WSQ programmes for more than a decade.

Programmes Offered

1. WSQ Diploma in Hotel & Accommodation Services

  • 7 Modules
  • 6 months Part-Time (Tuesdays 6pm to 10pm & Saturdays 9am to 6pm)
  • Full Fee: S$4,038
  • Singaporeans & PR enjoy 70% SSG grant, and only pay S$1,296.20
  • Singaporeans above 40 years old will enjoy a subsidy of 90% under the Mid-Career Subsidy scheme, and only pay S$488.60
  • Singaporeans who are eligible for the Workfare Training Support scheme, will enjoy 95% SSG grant, and only pay S$286.70
  • Payment can be made via SkillsFuture Credit, Cash, Cheque or PSEA

2. WSQ Higher Certificate in Hotel & Accommodation Services

  • 6 Modules
  • 1 month Full-Time (Mondays to Fridays, 9am to 6pm)
  • Full Fee: S$3,200
  • Singaporeans & PR enjoy 90% SSG grant, and only pay S$342.40
  • Singaporeans who are eligible for the Workfare Training Support scheme, will enjoy 95% SSG grant, and only pay S$182.40
  • Payment can be made via SkillsFuture Credit, Cash, Cheque or PSEA

3. WSQ Service Excellence
This module aims to equip learners with the ability to provide go-the-extra-mile service to exceed guest expectations, and thereby creating a positive service experience. Providing quality service is the norm in the industry. To be exceptional, hospitality professionals can up their skills and knowledge by bringing it to the next level.

  • 19 hours total training hours
  • 2 days class room training (9am to 6pm)
  • 2 hours e-learning
  • 1 hour assessment on the 3rd day
  • Full Fee: S$430
  • Singaporeans/PR will enjoy 90% SSG grant, and only pay S$46.01

4. WSQ Provide Workplace Safety and Security
The course is targeted at those who are new entrants to the hospitality industry or are current employees of a Hotel. This course aims to equip you with the required knowledge and practical techniques of handling safety, health and security activities, emergency response procedures, safe work practices and risk control procedures for safety and security of hotel guests and staff members; and interest of the hotel.

  • 18 hours total training hours
  • 2 days class room training (9am to 6pm)
  • 2 hours assessment on the 3rd day
  • Full Fee: S$455
  • Singaporeans/PR will enjoy 90% SSG grant, and only pay S$48.69

Popular Programmes

The Higher Certificate program is popular among those who have no prior experience in the Hotel industry and want to discover about the day-to-day operations of the Hotel. The main attraction of this course is that it has a practicum element where you will have the opportunity to experience real-life operations in areas of Front Office (1 day) and Housekeeping (1/2 day) in one of Ascott's serviced residences.

Those who have completed the Higher Certificate course, usually advance to the Diploma course. The Diploma program is very popular among middle managers, mid-career switchers and Hotel employees who seek certification. The modules offered in the Diploma program aims to equip you with practical skills and underlying knowledge of a Supervisor/Manager in a Hotel/lodging.

Most Unique Programme

At ACE, we not only combine traditional classroom methods with practical experience, we also blend training with e-learning elements so that you can revise modules at your own time. Classroom time is focused on structured exercises that emphasize the application of the curriculum to solve problems and work through tasks.

Admissions Criteria & Procedures

1. WSQ Diploma in Hotel & Accommodation Services

  • Entry Requirement: GCE ‘O' levels with credit in English and Maths / or WPLN level 5 and above
  • You are required to submit a written assignment for each module based on a case study given. You have a choice of submitting the assignments individually or as a group.

2. WSQ Higher Certificate in Hotel & Accommodation Services
Entry Requirement: GCE ‘N' levels with credit in English / or WPLN level 4 and above

Important Deadlines

Registrations must reach us two weeks before the course start date. All applicants will undergo an admission interview where they will get the opportunity to find out more about ACE, while ACE also finds out more about them. Applicants must be customer-oriented and possess an outgoing personality.
