To understand the nature of diseases and how to tackle them, students must first comprehend how diseases develop in the human body.
Both of our specialist tracks, Biomedical Research and Medical Laboratory Technology, will give you access to our state-of-the-art facilities and powerful diagnostic technology for rigorous practical training. You will also be exposed to cutting-edge research when you embark on industry attachments at leading institutions such as the National University of Singapore and A*STAR research laboratories.
DBMS graduates are ideally placed to pursue a degree in various medical specialisms including biological science, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, chemistry, medical science, medical laboratory technology, bioengineering and psychology. A large proportion of our graduates go on to undertake their degrees at top local universities. Top universities overseas also welcome our graduates with advanced standing of up to two years. To meet the graduation requirement, students will need to achieve a total number of modular credits as stipulated in the graduation criteria of their diploma programme. Students should complete the diploma programme within three years of enrolment.
Nitec Minimum net GPA ≥ 3.5
Higher Nitec Minimum net GPA ≥ 2.0
- Obtain an A-S grade for General Paper (English Medium),
- Obtain an A-E grade for 3 other H2 subjects, AND
- Must have taken GCE ‘A' Level examinations whilst studying in a Junior College / Millennia Institute in Singapore

Esther graduated from King’s College London with an honours degree in Biomedical Science. Prior to completing her degree, she had an opportunity to do an attachment at the National University of Singapore where she gained experience in cell cultures and virus propagation. Esther has been living overseas for the last ten years in various countries namely, Uganda, France and the United Kingdom, which explains her interest in travelling. Besides this, she has a passion for music and has performed with various musical groups. Esther also thoroughly enjoys voluntary work and has helped out at hospitals, disabled schools for children and residential homes. Esther looks forward to sharing her experiences and knowledge with the students.
